Conservatives would have the government stay out of the economic affairs of the citizens, but
Conservatives would have the government meddle in the private moral affairs of the citizens.

Liberals would have the government stay out of the private moral affairs of the citizens, but
Liberals would have the government meddle in the economic affairs of the citizens.

Conservatives and Liberals want the government to meddle in the affairs of the citizens on the mistaken belief it will benefit the citizens. It will not. All government meddling leads to more suffering by the citizens.

Libertarians would have the government stay out of the private moral affairs of the citizens, and
libertarians would have the government stay out of the economic affairs of the citizens.

Libertarians would have the government protect the right of each citizen to be free from assault by other citizens and foreign entities. But mostly, libertarians would remove the biggest violation of the liberty of the citizens by removing government meddling in the private moral and economic affairs of the citizens.

Note: Do not confuse Republicans with Conservatives or Democrats with Liberals. Although Republicans tend to be far more conservative that Democrats and Democrats far more liberal than Republicans, neither party represents the political views of Conservatives or Liberals very well.
